Keeping Up with Curriculum: I always keep a lookout for changes to curriculum. I stick closely to school curriculum and methods in order not to confuse the students. However, i will teach shortcuts and better methods to ensure they can finish the paper on time and is a method to check for careless mistakes. I am able to teach topics on own. I am able to help students who have problems focusing on class or missed lessons

As a Good Tutor: Firstly, I have to be always positive and energetic so the student will feel the same way about the lesson. I will check on the student on their school work and if they required any help and go through doubts. After going through their problems, i will give them more challenging questions and go through with them to make sure their presentations are correct and steps are not too lengthy or short. I will check on their school results, syllabus and examination schedule to know what to focus on.

I think it's important to also set realistic and achievable goals. Sometimes breaking down targets to an achievable bite-size portion first would give the student the encouragement he/she needs to then set higher expectations for themselves. I think managing expectations is important.

Rapport Building: Although I am a strict teacher, I tend to make sure that the child is learning instead of studying. I believe there is a huge difference between the two. In order to learn, the child must be comfortable and willing to absorb the knowledge given. In order to do so, I would make sure to have a good relationship with your child and be like a senior to her instead of a teacher. This is so that your child would not feel like he/she is having another class outside of school but instead, he/she is having fun learning and apply the knowledge.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I promise to be prepared for your child's tuition before the class, I would do so by getting to know what would be taught in school the next week and prepare myself for the lessons to be taught to your child. If I am unable to answer his/her questions, I would get back to him/her during the next lesson.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor must definitely have patience and also the ability to teach in a way that the child understands. The role of a private tutor is to cater to the child's needs and not simply teaching like any other teachers in school.
