            2 years of teaching lower primary school students. Both students failed math and English but after constant guidance and putting in hard work together, they passed all their examinations. Also teach 2 of my primary 6 school brothers who did managed to get into express stream in secondary school. I am a patient teacher who will do my best to help the student and will lend my services sincerely. I can work well with children and will cooperate with parents demands. I will push the students when needed and will be friendly so they will open up easily.             I am able to start in February and can commit for 1 and a half years. I would like to give private tutoring to lower primary school students for math, English and malay. I would prefer tuition sessions to be on weekend mornings but weekday nights are fine too. I will try to come more often if needed for the child to have more sessions during exam period.

            I will be open-minded and try to be as understanding as possible. I will try to get to know the student first and make him/her be comfortable by building a free and easy relationship. I will be interested to know about the student's life and I will occasionally give them gifts to motivate or compliment them about any task. I will try to be as flexible as possible and will be patient with parents. I will also give them frequent updates on their child progress and give the child feedback on how to improve.
            Keeping Up with Curriculum
            I will read up the child's school textbooks and look at their worksheets. I will also look at assessment books available in shops to know the type of assessments they are doing. When using a textbook, my pace of teaching will be according to the student's needs. I can teach subjects in advance or I can revise topics that have been taught.
            As a Good Tutor
            Good tutors and patient and kind to the student and parents. They do not get mad easily and will stay committed throughout their tuition assignment. They have to be flexible with the timings and communicate well with the parents. They cannot be shy as they have to make the student feel comfortable and they have to be enthusiastic during tuition sessions. They also have to be approachable and encouraging.

                I'm really patient and friendly which allows most students to feel comfortable with me even on the first meeting. If a particular teaching method does not seem to help the student, I always try to brainstorm alternative methods to allow the student to understand the teaching material better.

                I'm a conscientious person and I do not give up on students easily. When I take on a student, they are my responsibility thus, I try my absolute best to help them excel to the best of their abilities.

                Also, should the student need help on 'no tuition days' the student could always get in touch with me and I'll be able to help him/her even on non-tuition days.

                I start out the first lesson with the students setting a goal for the end of year exams and I tailor my lessons to help the student achieve their goal.

                Before committing to the first lesson, I make it a point to talk to the student's parents and find out more about their expectations of the student's performance. I also want to find out from the student where his or her "problem areas" are Then, I am very willing to share with them the study plan that I propose for the student. Also, I am willing to inform the parents of the student's progress and attitude during the tuition sessions. Finally, after each test/exam, should the student allow it, I always find it useful to go through his or her mistakes to find out how I can better help them improve in their studies.
                Keeping Up with Curriculum
                Having just graduated from the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) in 2015 and having a younger brother who is currently doing the same program, I feel that I am relatively up-to-date with the IB system. However, should I tutor students doing GCE A-level subjects, I am willing to read up and consult my A-level peers about the syllabus and the subjects. Still, I strongly believe that knowing universal studying techniques can be applicable to anyone regardless of the syllabus boundaries of the subject matter.

                I am patient, diligent, but firm in my ways. Depending on the age and abilities of each student, I can adjust my attitudes slightly in order to be more age-appropriate.
