Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have 3 years of experience of teaching in student care and tuition centres. I have been giving private tuition as well. I have been teaching for 12 years as a part time private tutor. I am able to teach english and maths to both lower n upper primary as well as science to the lower primary. I also am able to teach phonics and reading. I coach K1 and K2 , prepping them for the P1 syllabus. Students I have taught privately have improved greatly in term of being able to read confidently , do their work confidently.They are focused during tuition session. Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start as soon as possible. I am able to commit long term. I am able to give tuitions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday after 3 pm. On Tuesdays after 7 pm. On Saturday mornings and Sun afternoons and evenings.

Rapport Building: I ask parents what their concerns are and I also check with students their concerns too. I am friendly and firm during tuition sessions. I always inform the parents what I have taught the child on that day, inform them of any homework and give feedback on the child's progress. I also do my best to encourage and boost the students confidence, give them praises and some little gifts when i feel that they are doing well. This is my method of teaching, I feel its very necessary that the tutor does his/her best to help the student, to show care and concern, to be able to impart the knowledge to the student and when the student understands you and they in turn takes the effort to learn as much as they can and strife to improve to his/her ability. So far with all my tuitions, I have a good rapport with all the parents and students.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I have friends who are school teachers, and they update me on changes.I also have friends who run enrichment companies and I gain information from them too. I have been teaching for years, I also get updated through my students.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor needs to first love teaching, needs to have the drive and passion to help their students and be reliable also. They need to show care and concern for the students, patience is needed for students who are weak. They need to be dedicated.

Commitment / Other Details: I just finished my national service and am now working part time where my hours are flexible. I am waiting to resume my studies in Singapore Management University Law School. I do intend to continue giving tuition once school resumes so you do not have to worry about me leaving half way through.

Rapport Building: I have just complete my national service and am waiting to pursue my Law studies in Singapore Management University (SMU) in August. I am a very patient person and am able to help your child understand concepts. I have been teaching for very long because I have younger siblings at home who I coached for their major exams and both have done considerably well. I believe I have an ability to help children learn and I would do my best to help your child perform his best.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will get the most recent textbooks and assessment books to keep up with the current syllabus. On top of that, doing tuition on Sunday for underprivileged kids will also keep me updated with the current syllabus.

As a Good Tutor: I have to be patient, yet firm and most importantly inspire the kids to do well. Blindly teaching them not knowing whether they are learning is honestly a waste of money. Making them realise that they need to learn and then teaching them while motivating them is the best way to sustain good performance. I would know because I have siblings and students whom I have coached and I know what it takes to keep a student on the ball.

Rapport Building: Each students have their own characters .Therefore to be able to communicate well with them, I have to observe from the teaching and will see what i can do from that point . To communicate well with the students,trust and faith in them is very important towards their studies. This can build their self-esteem and excel in school. Tutor and parents can have a short 5-10 mins talk on how to improve their children studies and etc. I believe attending enrichment courses at a young age can help them to think far in the future and also studies.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will at least check their timetables at least once a week, if they have a certain test or quiz on the week, i will focus and stress on the subject .

As a Good Tutor: As a tutor, i believe patience,trust and confidence plays an important role in the student's studies. I have the patience to teach them slowly, if they don't understand, i can use other methods to teach them.Trust in them give them higher self-esteem and they can do better. Giving them the confidence i had in them, they will not let the tutor down and continue to excel. Some students tend to have a pessimistic mindset, which leads to poor results. As for me, i encourage students to do better and think of the bright side.
