Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have 6 years of tutoring experience. I tutor mainly in all subjects for primary school students.

In my tutoring experiences, I have successfully achieve the grades that parents would like to see their child achieving. I believe that parents must also be alert to their students' tuition homework and it is part of the child's responsibility as a student to complete their homework on time. The child must also be able to help themselves by listening to my advices. For example, if it is an English word that he/she doesn't know, I will encourage the student to check the dictionary first before coming to me. This is to teach the child that not only you can help yourself by trying to seek a solution first, it also teaches the child that there is more than one solution in solving problems.

Commitment / Other Details: I'm available during the weekends after 11am and weekdays after 6pm. My tutoring hours are dependent on parents, but if the student is very weak in his or her subject, I would suggest to increase the time or the frequency of sessions.

Rapport Building: Before tuition, the student must inform me what he/she has learn in school such that I can cater to his/her needs. For English, I would usually borrow books from the library to encourage the student to read. For Mathematics, I will get online Math worksheets for extra practice for the student. For Science, I will encourage the student to watch Discovery Channel or similar channels.

The basis of my tutoring is to encourage the student to continue learning as learning is for life.

After every lesson, a feedback will be given to parents on the child's behaviour and learning progress. I will also remind parents to stay alert especially nearing to tests or examination dates.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will ask around experienced educators, or pass by Popular to look at school textbooks. I also ask my students on what they are currently learning in school.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor must be helpful, patient and flexible.

To be helpful when your students need genuine help and to help them to your best of your abilities.

To be patient when your student is extremely lazy and to encourage him to study hard.

To be flexible when your student is different from other students, hence you should cater to his learning needs.

I am patient with my students, and I make sure to focus on them completely during the lesson. As a young person, I understand the interest in pop culture, which I believe can be used from time to time to improve their capabilities in the subject. in English, I place an importance in oral skills, making sure they speak well and articulate, as good English-speaking skills transplant themselves on paper. I will also make sure they read current affairs publications because that is often where you find the best form of English writing. I will go through their school assignments and requirements thoroughly during the lesson and check on them during the week.

Rapport Building: I will make sure to check with my students during the week on their assignments and if they require any help. I will speak with their parents about what their expectations are and should be, and how we can work together to help the child outside from class.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I look at the MOE syllabus and I visit bookstores to look at the current enrichment books available.

As a Good Tutor: Having a relationship with the student and his/her family, making sure that you are accountable and available, and that there is trust between you and each of them.
