    SMU student - Mr Ang helped to pull my Calculus grade from a D to a B+. He is a very patient teacher. He will go through a problem multiple times to help me understand it. He understands the subject very well to create simple examples which can be easily understood. The principles from those examples can then be used to answer practice questions and exams questions. He has a passion for teaching and he wants to share his love for mathematics with his students. Before he started tutoring me, I really disliked calculus. However, he helped me developed a respect and admiration for the subject of calculus.

        I believe I am a very sociable person, who is able to get along well with many kinds of people.         I feel that a good tutor is one that is able to build a good rapport with the students. Not only must the teacher be a good source of information, he must also be someone that the student can trust and confide his troubles with his studies with. Communication is important, especially when approaching topics that have already been covered in school and there is still confusion understanding. Hence I feel that to be a good tutor, there must be a good two way communication.
