As I only left the teaching service in 2013, I am well-versed with the current requirements of the English Language and Chemistry/Lower Sec Science syllabuses.
With a rather good outlook of how the curriculums will develop in future, it will be easy for me to comprehend any changes that might be in place in the new syllabuses.
As a Good Tutor
I teach from my student's perspectives. There will be different sets of problems with every student, so it is important for them to know my emerging expectations of them as they level up in their learning.
My mentoring does not just end when the time is up for each session. Students know that they can make quick clarifications via text messages.
I seize opportunities to inculcate values of RESPECT, SELF-DISCIPLINE and OWNERSHIP in my interactions with my students. I mentor my students, not just "teach", because I believe that while my job is to get them their good grades, character development is paramount.
