I have been teaching Chinese tuition since JC years, which is more than 10 years ago. The students are across all levels, from primary school to JC. So far the students I taught all have improvement in terms of grades and personal values. There was one student, and I started to teach him since he was P5. He had never scored above 20/100 before meeting me, and he passed him exams at the end of P5. However, I was pregnant so I stopped. about 8 months later, I accidentally met his mum when I was about to deliver my baby. The mum told me The boy's Chinese dropped to 20/100 again after I stopped teaching him and since PSLE was coming soon they were very worried. So I went back to teach him after my confinement month, and he scored B in his PSLE!

As a Good Tutor
Basically, teachers are motivators, mentors. As a good tutor, we not only give students work to do, but most importantly, teach them the methods, and make them interested in the subjects. So as a Chinese tutor, I do not give them exercises to do when I was around to pass time, I will spend time to explain to them and do conversational talks with them.
