Tuition/Teaching Experience
Although I never have opportunity to officially teach as a tutor before, I have quite some experience in tuition. My mother is a school teacher and sometimes when she couldn't be there for class, I would teach the students instead. Of course I do not have enough pedagogical skills to teach students but I believe that my own inspirations and the close age difference between me and my students will draw us into the same page of learning. He or she will feel free to ask question regarding not just school knowledge but other things that I have gone through in my academic life such as CCAs, activities, and currently university life, though which I my pass down the inspirations to my students so that they are more motivated to study for a brighter future awaiting them.

Commitment / Other Details
I can start giving tuition since early September this year. I can teach for as long as I do not have internship and exchange program, which is highly unavailable in this year and also next year. I am free to teach on every weekday evening except Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening, and the whole Sunday. Since I am staying in NUS hostel, sometimes there are compulsory meetings. If these meetings fall into the scheduled tuition date, I can arrange other timeslots with the students in the same week, or make-up lesson the following week, to ensure that the students receive adequate knowledge and not fall behind their peers.
Rapport Building
I'm inexperienced but I will try my best to give tuition to the students the same as when I guide my own friends in their study.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I just finished my GCE A level last year and even now I'm keeping up with the latest updates of syllabus from SEAB. Furthermore, currently at university, I'm learning Maths and Physics modules which is basically a review of A level knowledge. Since late July, I have been reviewing A level knowledge to better prepare myself to be a qualified tutor. Moreover, I'm still in touch with my teachers from JC, meaning that I can get myself updated about how Cambridge changes the marking scheme and types of question coming out. Thus, with adequate information and updated knowledge, I believe I can give the best in my tuition work.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor should be well-prepared in knowledge and marking scheme to prepare the students well for exams.
A good tutor mus be able to be a friend of the students so that they feel more easy to share problems, mainly academic ones and sometimes social ones. A relaxing atmosphere where students feel as if they were studying with their close friends is the best environment to study and absorb knowledge.
A good tutor must be able to motivate and encourage students to try their best and always aim higher beyond their current standard. Exceed beyond oneself is the most important achievement at this stage of life.
