I have had prior experience teaching on a voluntary basis at the University level for subjects such as Engineering Math and Thermodynamics.
I believe that there are two important aspects to education at the Secondary level; namely preparation for exams and nurturing academic interest.
Preparing the student for examinations is the basic responsibility of the tutor and often is the desired goal of the parents, in terms of expected grades and so on.
Nurturing the student's interest in academics, on the other hand, refers to teaching them about the meanings behind things as well as how they came about. For example, Calculus may seem strange to many students when they first learn about it, but it may become more meaningful when shown how it is used to understand physical phenomena.
I am able to start within the week of confirmation. Weekends are preferable, but I will do my best to accommodate any particular days of the weeks or preferred times.
I am currently a fresh graduate from NTU (Mechanical Engineering) and will be commencing as a PhD student in August.
