I have volunteered to teach my secondary school relatives in the subject of mathematics. In mastering the subject of mathematics, learning the fundamental concepts is the first but most important step because it gives you the solid foundation to attempt harder questions. After mastering the key concepts, I would let the student to try out the concepts in different context to ensure that they fully know how to apply the concept to the questions.
I am currently a year 2 undergraduate at NTU. Other than studies, I have no other major commitments and thus I am able to devote my time and attention to my student.
I am able to start immediately and I am available on weekends preferably and if required, weekdays evening.
Rapport Building
I believe that a good tutor-tutee relationship is one where the tutee feels comfortable in clarifying whatever doubts he/she has because only by doing so, she will be able to progress and move on from there. Therefore, I seek to establish a friendly relationship with my tutee and will be patient in helping the tutee to understand the subject.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have access to the latest edition of the secondary school mathematics textbook and question banks. This keeps me updated with the current curriculum and be aware of the standards set by various schools.
