Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have tutored primary school students for about one year and enjoyed my experiences very much. This is partly due to the fact that I love interacting with children.
I am able to start from July 2017 and am willing to commit for at least a year. I prefer to hold tuition classes around the North East areas such as Punggol, Sengkang etc, and is currently free.
Rapport Building
I would reward the students with little treats of encouragement if they show immense improvements in their grades or achieved their goals. Acting as their big sister, I would encourage them to work hard and strive for excellence. I understand that as a parent, it is worrying if their children do not do as well as others and I am of course willing to listen and discuss with their parents on areas of improvement as well as focusing on their weaker points.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I sometimes do volunteer work to guide lower primary children's school work.
As a Good Tutor
I would feel that patience and confidence in their own students are vital qualities of good tutors. Having patience is essential to ensure students would not feel discouraged if they kept asking to repeat the same explanations over and over again. Having faith in students is extremely crucial that students would eventually trust in themselves that they could do as well as what others expect them to which will definitely encourage them to work hard. I believe that every student has the potential to do well and what eventually differentiates one from another is of course the amount of effort they put into.
