Tuition/Teaching Experience
Coming from a polytechnic has imbued me with an ability to teach, despite not having a formal background. We are taught to express our knowledge through presentations or teach each other when preparing for exams. This informal style of teaching, combined with an understanding of the school syllabus, will provide a fun and fruitful learning environment. Especially for the humanities, where rote memorization is not the path to success, I believe that I can impart joy in enjoying what one studies or most importantly to create curiosity for the student to explore more about the subject in his free time.

Commitment / Other Details
I am currently serving National service in a stay out camp as an administrative clerk. My hours are 8:00 to 5:30pm on Mondays to Fridays.
Rapport Building
I like to start teaching by having an understanding of the parent of how his/her child's personality to be better able to engage him. It is also important to know what the goals of the tuition are, be it to supplement school work or to go through the material to help with understanding. For the student the focus will be to create a rapport with the student and to explore his/her interests. This can help to provide context to the syllabus based on his interests. For example videos/documentaries and articles that are related to the subjects he is studying and his interests.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I read extensively, in fiction and non fiction to apply my knowledge gained in the curriculum. I have taken online courses on best practices when it comes to learning to maximise study time.
As a Good Tutor
A good tutor should be patient. A good tutor should spark a sense of curiosity in the student to want to know more. A good tutor should be a motivator.
