Tuition/Teaching Experience
I worked as a Mathematics teacher at both The Learning Lab and Mavis Tutorial Centre after I graduated from University. I taught students from K1 all the way to Primary 6. I am confident of improving results; several of my former students who are now in secondary schools, have improved vastly from failing to As and Bs. I reward my students' regularly for putting in effort and trying their best; I am their biggest cheerleader!
When parents decide to select me as their children's tutor, I guarantee parents that I will follow on with their children until the full academic year is over. For example, if I start teaching their child in January, parents can be rest assured that I will be with their children until at least November, when the academic year has ended.
I am available to start teaching immediately.
Rapport Building
I build rapport with parents by communicating my objectives and observances (about their children) clearly. Both parents and I have a clear goal in mind and that is to help the child excel academically and grow into a responsible young Singaporean. It is also extremely important to be honest and to communicate regularly as both help to reduce the probability of disputes arising.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I frequently study other schools' test papers and buy the latest assessment books to keep myself updated. Furthermore, I have several good friends who are working at MOE and we often exchange news pertaining to new curriculum changes.
As a Good Tutor
It is important for a tutor to be able to put himself or herself in the shoes of their students. Students need to be able to trust us, and they will trust tutors only if they see that their tutors genuinely care for them.
As a former teacher from The Learning Lab, expect nothing but the best from me.
