As a Good Tutor
I come from a strong academic background: formerly from Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College, and later a scholarship holder at the Faculty of Law at NUS, where I was placed on the Dean's List and received 2nd Upper Honours. Thereafter I worked as legal counsel for several years, first at a statutory board, then at an MNC.
I have a passion for imparting knowledge and skills to young people, with a strong emphasis on linguistic techniques that will be of lasting usefulness throughout the student's life and career, such as clear and effective writing and developing a keen eye for the crux of the question. I want each and every of my students to benefit from my tutoring not just for that academic year, but for the rest of his or her life.
Further, my wealth of coaching experience and training in law means that breaking down complex concepts into bite-size notions for easy understanding and retention has become second nature to me, an approach that all students, whether strong or weak in the subject, will appreciate and benefit from.
