Tuition/Teaching Experience
Teaching approach: I do not have a standard teaching method for I believe it's not always a "one size fits all" solution. I am not a strict tutor and the secret to maintaining a very close relationship with my students is that I try to put myself in their shoes.

Depending on the type of student that I am coaching, I will analyze the personality and study pattern of his/hers before deciding on the teaching method so as to ensure effective learning sessions.

To me, learning a language has to be interactive and fun as this would build and keep the interest of the learner. I would create an atmosphere in which the student wants to learn, not because he/she has to. Students learn more when they are learning because they want to and not out of obligation.

Commitment / Other Details
I will stay committed for as long as my tutees require.

I had one year of teaching experience at a tuition centre where I was tasked to prepare foreign students for their AEIS (Admission Exercise for International Students) test.

Brief details on students that I have coached or are currently coaching:

All levels including IB and adult conversational.
Local and international students from schools such as Changkat Pri, Damai Pri, Haig Girls, Maha Bodhi, Manjusri Secondary, Nanyang Primary, Ping Yi Secondary, SOTA, Stamford American International School, St Joseph's Institution International, St Hilda's and UWC (East).

International students from America, China, England, India, Indonesia, Korea, Philippine, Taiwan and Thailand.

Coaching working adults and expats' wives on Business Writing, Conversational English & Chinese.

My students are generally very weak in their languages (Chinese & English) especially international students and they could barely pass their exams. I am very pleased to say that none of them failed their exams after my coaching. Some of them see results as short as 3 months of tuition with me.

As for my adult learners, they would always tell me that I gave them so much practices that they would dream of it at night but it's all worthwhile for one of my learner told me that she is now so confident in her conversational English that she decided to try chair her very first business meeting!

Track records (to name a few):

A primary 1 girl from New Zealand enrolled into one of the local schools. She had no prior Chinese language knowledge but has progressed from grade 4 to 3 and ranked 3rd in her entire class this year; after just 8 months of tuition with me. She has also received the most improved progress award from the school last year.

A Primary 6 girl who had been failing her English since Primary Three, scored 68 for her SA1; after 3 months of tuition with me. She was the top English scorer in her class for PSLE last year after 9 months of tuition with me. She had also been failing her Chinese language since Primary One but has scored 55 for her SA1 after just 2 months of tuition.
Her younger sister who was in Primary Four, started failing her English language since Primary Two, has finally passed her SA1 after 3 months of tuition.

Another Primary 6 girl who had been getting a score of between 50 to 55, scored a B for her PSLE last year.

A Primary 4 boy went from scoring 69 to 84 for his English, after 5 months of tuition.
