Commitment / Other Details: From March 2017 onwards, I would be able to dedicate all days of the week to tutoring. In the meantime, I am free mostly only on weekends.

Rapport Building: Rapport building is very important for me as a tutor. This helps to cultivate and develop the sacrosanct student-teacher relationship based on trust. It is important for me to get to know the child's personality, strengths, and weaknesses to tailor my teaching style to his or her needs. As I do not wish to waste precious lesson time, knowing more about the student can take place while teaching as well as after lessons. I am fully approachable and friendly! I am still very young and graduated from JC not long ago! I know what's up with kids haha!

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I still have my notes and regularly check for updates on syllabus. I also keep in contact with school tutors. This would aid in my updated relevant teaching.

As a Good Tutor: Firstly teaching may seem like a unilateral relationship to some, where only the student gains. However, to me the student-teacher relationship is very important. It takes two to clap, so I ensure my student is attentive and that I deliver to the best of my abilities and create optimum condition for the learning of my student. Humility is very important to me as a person, I will make no pretense in my teaching, if I have any doubts, I will make effort to clarify by reading and checking the syllabus. Patience and commitment are also my important traits. I know what it is like to be a student ( so stressful!) Students may have questions that wish to be answered immediately, as I am fully committed to the child's learning, he or she can drop me a message at any time!

Commitment / Other Details: I currently just ended my National Service. While awaiting for matriculation to NTU in late July, I am willing to partake in teaching tuition from January till June 2017.

Rapport Building: First and foremost, even before I start my lessons, I will go to the child's home and talk to the parents about my schedule for the month and the dates in which I will not be free/ go for a vacation. Then from there, the dates will be confirmed so as to avoid any misunderstanding. Once tuition begins, getting to know the student is a must. Analyse the child's studying teachnique and use that to improve his/her grades. Rewarding the child is a good incentive to boost his/her morale and attitude towards studying.

First of all in the first lesson,I will be conducting a diagnostic test to find out the child's weakness and strengths. From there whilst tapping on the strengths to further improve on it, the weakness will not be neglected and continuous revisions will be done. Pop quizes/ surprise tests will be conducted to see the child's improvement.

Studying materials( assignment papers etc) will be provided by myself. As for the child, only writing materials and textbooks/notes will suffice.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor have to have discipline and dedication. Talking to the parents before hand regarding my schedules and days in which I will not be free( going on holidays/ family events), will give the parents and child a better picture of the tuition teacher's discipline. Also, taking responsibility of the child's academics and well-being is equally important. A happy child is a smart child. Be not only a tuition teacher but also a good Friend.
