As a Good Tutor: I believe a good tutor should essentially be equipped with a good grasp of knowledge in the particular subject they are tutoring and is updated with the latest syllabus for starters.
A good tutor will be able to gauge each individual's learning curve (especially for group tuitions); and understand how each individual tutee learn and execute the knowledge. Good tutors will be able to identify tutees's problems and rectify them if possible; or if unable to, they should minimize the issue and engage the tutee using a different method.
