Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have been giving private tuition since late 2005, when I was still in university. I also have a year of experience teaching at SAJC in 2010 as a contract teacher. I enjoy coaching students who are struggling in their studies. Most of the time, my students started off with little understanding of what is required of them to get better results. They think that those who get straight As are smarter and/or more hard working than themselves. This is only half the story. Besides working hard, most of them do not know that they also need to take note of things such as time management during examinations, preparation of a proper study time table before they embark on their revision etc. These are the things that will make a big difference to the kind of grades that they are consistently getting.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to begin immediately, weekdays included. However, after August 2014, I would be only be able to make it on weekends due to school, but I will make certain exceptions. Will do a double session on weekends. Can commit till Dec 2014, then I will be going on exchange for 6 months. Will find another suitable tutor for the student.

Rapport Building: I would talk to them like a friend, and not a teacher. Instead of constantly bugging them to do their work, I would give them occasional short breaks and motivate them. I will talk to their parents after every session to discuss what I've gone through with their kids, and what they can improve on.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I read up on textbooks to refresh myself on concepts that are being taught now in schools.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor must possess patience, knowledge, dedication, commitment, excellence, and most importantly, to be able to help the students to achieve their desired results.
