I'm currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Maritime Studies, in NTU this year. I will be teaching for at least 4-5 years thus the parents will not need to worry that they will have to constantly change tutor.

I have tutored an ACS primary 2 student Chinese and math earlier this year but my school timetable clashes with my tutee available timing thus I have no choice but to stop tutoring him. Even though I do not have much math tutoring experience, I have been constantly assisting my sister, friends and classmates with their schoolwork when they needed help. I enjoyed teaching as I will always feel a sense of satisfaction when I'm able to help them with their problems. I promised to give my 100% to my tutee and ensuring they constantly improve their results.

              I am able to commit the whole year as the main goal is the End of Year Exam. Those exams in between like CA1 and SA1 will used to how far the student as improved.

              During the first two sessions, I usually go through the textbooks and past year topics to see which are the student's weak topics. Also, I will use this two session to see what are their learning methods. Being strict is not my personality, as you can't force someone to study or force someone to remember. With a good understanding of each topic, a student will able to learn easily.
              Keeping Up with Curriculum
              As I mentioned earlier, I will first identify a student's weak topics. Then, I will teach the weakest topic first and make sure they have understood the basic before going to the challenging questions for each topic. Then, I will move on to the next topic. In between lessons, I will keep up to date with the school's curriculum to make sure that they understand what is being taught in school. This will help them to learn better in school.
              As a Good Tutor
              I will set goals with the student based on their past year exam. From there, I will encourage them by giving mini test in class. I believe encouragement is the key!
