    My current tutee parents' do keep in touch with me from time to time to ask about their child's performance. I also take the initiative to update them and notify them about their child's performance on a regular basis. I like to be friendly yet professional with my students as I think it will be easier for my tutee to approach me with doubts and questions when I'm on the same level as they are.
