Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have taught Secondary 2 Mathematics when I was in Junior College. I am currently tutoring a Secondary 4 student for Pure Physics and Chemistry. My tutoring style will be to focus on the topics which the student is weak on, focusing on brushing up their fundamentals before moving on to attempt difficult questions. I will also explain how different concepts can be used to apply to questions. I hope to make the student have interest in the subject by relating topics to real world situations. I will also be contactable via whatsapp for questions after tuition hours.

Tutoring Subjects

Commitment / Other Details: I will be able to commit to the tuition assignment at least until end of this year. I have intentions of continuing tuition for more than a year. I will be available during weekdays evening and Saturday morning. Timing for the tuition is flexible and can be discussed further.

Rapport Building: Usually, I would try to understand the background of the students, such as their grades, their school and their CCA so as to understand the needs of the students better. I would also ask for preferences during tuition, such as when preparing notes, would the students be more comfortable for it to be in mind maps or point forms. As such, I can cater the lessons to the students better.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will check the MOE guidelines on the current standards of the subjects I teach, ensuring that my knowledge is in line with the MOE standards. Also, I do look through notes and practice questions myself so that I test myself and will be confident of my knowledge and skills.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor caters to their students, and I make my lessons more student-oriented. The aim of a tutor is to let students better understand the subject to score in the examination and hopefully, students can also gain interest in the subject on the way. Subjects are very dry and boring materials, thus, it is the job of a tutor to make the subject more interesting to the student.
