Commitment / Other Details
I can start asap and will be the most flexible from May - July and December - January. Timings for the other months would need to be discussed as i will be attending classes at least 3 times a week.
Rapport Building
I enjoy helping others achieve their goals, both academic and non-academic. I believe in purposeful motivation as opposed to obligation-led focus, since the former is a permanent trait that would benefit one in every aspect.

I moved to Taipei, Taiwan shortly after taking my PSLE and have spent my impressionable teenage years learning from my peers and teachers from all over the world, taking away memorable life lessons that help me form the positive attitude i hold today. I remember being in primary school in Singapore, experiencing the overt emphasis on examination results and the crushing disappointment in myself whenever i didn't deliver. I've since been exposed to a completely different method of education, whereby studying for exams becomes a healthy challenge to one's self; a form of experimentation to see just how much your brain can hold and more importantly, inviting further curiosity about the wonderful things in our world. English literature, my favourite subject, became about studying the meaning of the texts and what the author was trying to tell the world, as opposed to merely finding the right answer to an exam question regarding the author's intentions. And Math, the bane of my academic experience, became a puzzle i was determined to solve. It is a complicated subject of unique logic, whereby one is either clueless or a genius, depending if he/she chooses to find the right formula to unlock its pattern. Such an outlook later on allowed me to excel in Junior College, despite the strenuous transition from an international system to the local educational system.

I hope to bring a fresh attitude to the table in order to spread positivity about education. I also hope to help students demolish the previously etched image of exams, instead helping them see that these hurdles can be overcome with the right methods of study. Speaking from personal experience, my mentees/tutees have developed inquisitive attitudes about various subjects once their views of academics have been corrected. This has helped their grades improve significantly since interest breeds self-motivation. I sincerely wish to bring education to a higher level, providing students with the learning experience they deserve.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I stay up-to-date with the local curriculum through the newspapers and SEAB websites.
As a Good Tutor
Good tutors analyse the study pattern and attitude the tutee has towards a particular subject and education in general. Based on his/her observations, a good tutor would sit down with the tutee's parents and evaluate the child's learning obstacles. From there, the tutor should suggest and implement changes to the child's learning methods and guide him/her through the learning process.
