Rapport Building: I am patient, and I understand the frustrations of students when it comes to learning new content. Hence, I feel that my willingness to repeat my explanations puts them at ease and gets students to open up more. No question is out of limits and I gladly re-explain because my target at the end of the day is for my students to have a clear picture of what I'm teaching.

I also like to build rapport by having interactive sessions where I often test my student's knowledge by questioning them with questions that go deeper than the surface, to test their grasp of the concept and see how the unravel the trickery from the questions to apply the concept that they have learnt. Often, this gets students to think on the spot and remain focused during the lessons.

I am also a firm believer in a teacher being there for the student at all times, and I am available for contact at all times of the day to answer any questions my students have, via whatsapp, text, email or even call. From personal experience in my days studying, it was extremely useful to have a teacher a call away anytime of the day to answer my queries.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Languages: I read the papers everyday and enjoy reading books as well. Thus my grasp of the english language is sound and my general knowledge updated

Sciences: I am currently preparing for studying medicine in NUS so I am revising much of my A level Biology and Chemistry. I also have contacts whom I get updates about the revision of examination formats so that my teaching will be as "exam smart" as well.

As a Good Tutor: 1) A good tutor must understand the importance of the balance between knowledge and being exam smart. Both are equally important, and both aspects need to be targeted for a student to ace his/exams. Here is an example of what I mean. In a general paper examination, a student need to have 2 things, first is a good command of vocabulary and secondly, he must know what to write to please the examiners. If he is able to use fanciful language but he does not write using the appropriate techniques, then he will only score half the marks. He will score highly for language use, but poorly in structure of the essay etc. Vice versa.

2) Patience. My personal pet peeve are short tempered teachers. I felt intimidated and therefore less likely to ask questions even though I was unclear. So, a tutor must have an even temper and accept that his job is to teach, so he must entertain any question with =out feeling frustrated as each question signifies an area of doubt.

3) Competency in the subject. this inspires confidence in the student and ensures that what the teacher teaches is accurate.

Course Description:
Very experienced tutor starting group tuition. Small class that are grouped according to their capability. Organized and systematic program that aims to finish P6 syllabus by march holidays for intensive revision thereafter. Starting on 17 December onwards. Spaces are limited as my individual students are all grouping together. Focuses on key concepts before revision based on exam papers. Proven techniques which helped many, including students which require lots of motivation, to improve significantly. More frequent lessons and more intensive revision will be catered leading up to prelims.
Other Details:
Students come for a minimum of 2hs per session. However, they are allowed to stay longer than that if they require to complete school homework or practice papers. Duration is flexible. Session is especially useful for students who require constant parental supervision as I can provide for that. Also, I'm willing to provide one way transport for students in the east area. I can provide for transport back after each session.
