Commitment / Other Details: I will be able to commit to the tuition assignment at least until end of this year. I have intentions of continuing tuition for more than a year. I will be available during weekdays evening and Saturday morning. Timing for the tuition is flexible and can be discussed further.

Rapport Building: Usually, I would try to understand the background of the students, such as their grades, their school and their CCA so as to understand the needs of the students better. I would also ask for preferences during tuition, such as when preparing notes, would the students be more comfortable for it to be in mind maps or point forms. As such, I can cater the lessons to the students better.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will check the MOE guidelines on the current standards of the subjects I teach, ensuring that my knowledge is in line with the MOE standards. Also, I do look through notes and practice questions myself so that I test myself and will be confident of my knowledge and skills.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor caters to their students, and I make my lessons more student-oriented. The aim of a tutor is to let students better understand the subject to score in the examination and hopefully, students can also gain interest in the subject on the way. Subjects are very dry and boring materials, thus, it is the job of a tutor to make the subject more interesting to the student.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to start immediately and commit to at least twice a week, with each session lasting from 1 to 1.5 hours. My preferred tuition timings would be after 6pm on weekdays.

Rapport Building: On my first session of the tuition assignment, I will look through the student's school work to gauge his understanding of the subject. Thereafter, the student will have to complete a mini quiz for me to better identify the weaker areas of understanding. I will set achievable weekly goals together with the student to have a clear timeline of the student's progress. I will go through the questions and answers that is covered in a particular session. The students will have to do homework before the next tuition session. I will engage the parents to take note of the student's progress and participate in his/her child's learning of the subject.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I will ensure that I am up to date with the current curriculum by reading the school textbooks as well as practice using the many self-tuition books that are available in major bookstores.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor requires dedication as well as patience to enhance the learning of a student. On top of everything else, a good tutor also requires determination to ensure that excellent results are achieved.
