Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have been tutoring since I graduated from Dunman Secondary School after my O levels. I have taught many students primary school mathematics. My most recent student was a Primary 4 girl who was failing her mathematics very badly. I taught her for 2 months as I was hired just 2 months before final exams and she managed to pass her maths with an average grade. My students in general show great improvement and I usually try to be a friend to them more than a tutor and make sure they enjoy the lesson. I also use in simple real life examples to illustrate the problem sums when student has difficulty understanding.

Commitment / Other Details: I am able to teach on WEEKDAY EVENINGS and WEEKENDS, beginning in Jan 2016.

My rates start at $45/hour for JC students, depending on distance. If you are able to form a small group of 2-3 students, I am willing to offer a rate of $35/hour.

Lessons have a minimum duration of 2 hours per week, in order to fully cover content and exam skills without rushing for time.

I will be heading to the University of Cambridge to study Economics.

Rapport Building: As a private tutor, I am able to tailor my teaching to the needs of each and every student, as compared to teachers in tuition centres. As such, I am able to identify with the different learning styles adopted by each student, and help them understand concepts more easily.

Having been a student myself, I understand their difficulties and concerns, and will be able to relate to them better.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: No one understands the syllabus better than a student who has just undergone the A-Levels and excelled at it. Not only have I mastered the content, but I also understand the exam strategies needed to score in the A-Levels. I know what the examiners are looking for, and I will impart these strategies to my students.
