Tuition/Teaching Experience: I have two years of experience teaching my peers in my school (JC 1 and JC 2). Since I usually help my peers in Sciences (maths, physics, chemistry), my teaching method focuses mostly on the understanding of the concepts and the methods to solve problems, rather than on the heart-to-heart memorization. I hope to teach the students how to solve different types of problems with flexibility so that they are able to solve identical/similar problems in the future.
Among my friends whom I have helped, their scores have improved, from 5s and 6s to 7s (which is the highest grade in IB program).

Commitment / Other Details: I am ready to start as soon as possible, and I think that I can commit to a tuition at least until the end of next year (2015).

Rapport Building: I hope to build a good relationship with the students and family by being concerned and understanding with the student's problems and weaknesses. I am willing to repeat and repeat myself until the student fully understands what I am saying, while I am also willing to modify my teaching method/curriculum in order to make it easier for the student to comprehend. I will also communicate with the student's family in order to keep them updated with their child's progress.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I hope to keep myself updated with the curriculum by constantly keep tabs of the changes through my juniors in school and as well as feedback from the students and family.

As a Good Tutor: My motto for tutoring is "be strict, but not too harsh". Throughout my tutoring experience, I have realized that being strict is necessary because it pushes the student to try harder and to put more effort into the tuition. If the tutor is not strict enough, the student may lack the motivation to study and therefore his/her result may not improve as well as he/she would have wanted. However, the tutor also should not put too much pressure and be too harsh on the student as once the point of diminishing return is reached, the outcome will be negatively affected as well. I understand that the student has a lot of commitments and pressure from other subjects in school as well, and therefore I try not to pile on the pressure to the point that the student becomes frustrated and is not able to focus on the tuition.
If the level of strictness is ideal, the student is able to not only concentrate fully on the tuition but also have enough time and strength to dedicate to his/her other commitments in other aspects of life.
